@elzahraahassane: The People of the Sabbath never denied Allah’s command. They simply tried to obey it on the surface while avoiding it in reality. They didn’t catch the fish on Saturday. They made sure the fish would be waiting for them on Sunday. They changed the method… but not the disobedience. Allah wasn’t testing whether they could avoid holding a fishing net. He was testing whether they would submit when obedience became difficult. Sometimes Allah tests us the same way. A relationship that isn’t ḥalāl. Money earned through doubtful means. A business opportunity that compromises our values. A career that requires us to disobey Allah. The temptation often comes in the form of exactly what we want most. The test is not there because Allah needs to know what we will choose. He already knows. The test is there so that our choices become our own proof on the Day of Judgment. ﴿وَإِذْ يَعْدُونَ فِي السَّبْتِ… كَذَٰلِكَ نَبْلُوهُم بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ﴾ ‏”…Thus We tested them because they had been persistently disobedient.” ‏(Qur’an 7:163) Sometimes the greatest blessing isn’t getting what you want. It’s remaining obedient when everything inside you wants to disobey. Every test is an opportunity to prove that your love for Allah is greater than your attachment to this dunya.
