That’s not True, Columbus landed in Higuey, Mole St.Nicolas, which is by the way in Haiti. This is a mistake many Dominicans make since there’s a modern city name Higuey. The two are not the same. Higuey then was one of the 5 major subdivisions of the entire island. However That was in early December 1492. But Columbus was already in Lucay since October a smaller island now owned by the Bahamas.
