@adelemarchant: How to regulate yourself emotionally in a relationship when something triggers you or your anxious attachment ##anxiousattachmentstyle##anxiousattachment##situationshipproblems##situationshiphealing##datingadviceforwomen
@papayaa: but is this not a matter of framing things? telling u to go isn’t very nice (to me it feels like abandonment) but if he said it in a nicer way to remind u that he needed time to do his things etc? do u think it wld have changed one’s reaction? or like giving u a head ups that by xyz time he has to do his own things

My problem is I constantly overthink the intimacy and physical touch in my relationship. It’s not even that I want it but i feel that without it means that he doesn’t love me that much. That im not attractive enough otherwise he would be all over me. I only feel attractive if he initiates

how do you navigate this when you try to remove yourself and calm down but all you can do is just ruminate or constantly thing about the situation?

but how do you know its a me problem, or its just that your partner its not a good partner? i dont want to self sabotage thinking i always need to self regulate, because maybe its just that the other person its not being a good partner.

But what if you try to give it space or something and doing something but the situation or words or whatnot is just continuing to go through your head and is hard to let it be and get outta your head? Also I have a question, if you feel annoyed or like down from if per se we were supposed to hang and then they canceled. Or didn’t do something you wanted them to like being at a concert and they didn’t dance with you or do something you want so it makes you feel down. But it’s more of me me problem? So how do I just let it be and not let it bug me or feel like that? Is it wrong to feel that way? I don’t want it to ruin my relationships feeling like that but I do think it’s kinda a me thing, like drawing it out into something bigger

I do all this but a part of me is saying I am abandoning myself. How to deal with that?

but what if it happened so many times that even though i know it's a me problem and i communicate it with him, he gets upset that i even needed to self regulate in the first place, as to him it's as though i don't accept his actions even after being together for so long and he feels tired

Chat GPT helped me a lot but I made sure to tell him do not validate my emotions or feelings at those moments I need you to ground me or regulate me and after that he tells me stuff depending on the situation to regulate myself and it works and I get my emotions back

do you have anything on how to repair and apologize after you’ve already spammed them or given in to protest behaviors? I fear i’ve made a huge mistake with my spamming man when I was triggered and he’s completely stonewalling me because of it

This is the exactttt subject that has me stuck in endless loops of ruminating and over evaluating every interaction lately. (Even though I was struggling with my ROCD even before this topic came up for us.) The relationship is still new to us and we are both adjusting to balancing it, him especially. I decided that even if it’s uncomfortable and scary for me, I’m going to provide him with some space and not apply any pressure for anything to be a certain way. It’s a bit easier for me to do when I remember that when we first met, he FULLY respected that I wasn’t ready to jump into a relationship yet and NEVER pressured or questioned me in any way and stuck by me until I said I was ready. If he can do that for me, I can do this for him.
