Educational purposes:—As altar servers, we are called to serve the Lord with humility, faith, and love. Every time we stand at the altar, we are not simply performing a duty—we are answering God's call to serve His Church. Through our service, we grow closer to Christ, deepen our relationship with Him, and learn what it truly means to live a life centered on God. As we continue serving faithfully, God's calling in our lives may become clearer and stronger. What begins as a simple "yes" to serving at the altar can gradually become a greater invitation. The Lord may call some of us to dedicate our entire lives to Him by entering the seminary or the convent, where we will spend years studying, praying, and being formed spiritually, intellectually, and pastorally. Not every altar server is called to become a priest or a nun, but every altar server is called to seek God's will with an open heart. For those whom He chooses, the journey toward the priesthood or religious life is a beautiful response to His love—a life dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel, celebrating the sacraments, and serving His people with compassion and humility. Serving at the altar is often the first step in discovering God's greater plan. If we remain faithful, prayerful, and willing to listen to His voice, He will guide us wherever He wants us to be. Whether our vocation is to the priesthood, religious life, marriage, or another path of service, our greatest calling is to love God above all things and to faithfully follow Him for the rest of our lives.
