People complain that Death Stranding 2 lost Game of the Year to Expedition 33. I played both last year, and Death Stranding 2 is genuinely a life-changing experience. It was absolutely game of the year material. But it's a real shame that it released the same your as Expedition 33, which is easily Game of a Lifetime. God damn, E33 is a generation-defining experience. It's an instant classic - a work of art that belongs in a museum. What a fucking accomplishment of games as a medium.

I think it’s also that the story affected me so strongly that I had to sort of rethink my life. Pouring so much time into gaming and escapism, only to be met with THAT ending? Really makes you ask if you’re an Aline or a Renoir in your life, and if it’s time to get more serious about life

Its insane how creative minds can be. I have played hundreds of games during my decade of gaming. From Triple A games, to niche indie games. From 80$ titles to 20$ games. Exp33 is definitly at the big 5 of gaming. It shares its table with Elden Ring, Rdr2, Nier Automata and probably Breath of the Wild or Ocarina of Time. Everything in Exp33 is so insanely peak. The only negative thing about it, is that it has limited content to offer. The music, the art direction, the gameplay, the characters, the tension, the story, the lore, the graphics, the emotional turmoil. Only real complain is(imo) that chapter 3 was a little short.
