hey, heads up in case you or anyone here doesnt know this: spinal taps are incredibly dangerous for people with EDS and an absolute last resort for testing. I assume you were not yet diagnosed, but I am not totally clear on how this timeline and your diagnosis timeline interact 😅. Just for anyone hearing this: if you are hypermobile or think you have any type of connective tissue disorder- tell your doctor and ask for any other test they might be able to do instead 💖

Honestly girl I get it, my ex was hella abusive but he bought me home a chicken burger after work (I was vegetarian and don’t even like bread and it was going to be thrown out because it was a mistaken order) BUT the thought was there and when ur in a manipulative relationship you tend to hold onto all the good things to prove to urself that they’re still the good person u met at the start

oh babe. your grief would’ve been a huge contributing factor in not seeing the red flags, grief is so overwhelming and it can make you cling to every happy or kind thing, and almost filter out the stuff that’s terrible as a defence mechanism. the brain can disregard things you never normally would in order to keep you emotionally safe, to protect you from more pain that you believe you couldn’t handle on top of everything else. i know you know all this, but i’m just saying that’s what i hear when you’re telling these stories. yes our choices are our own, but i don’t know anyone who would’ve made less “mistakes” if they were in your situation, myself included. <3
