My thing with the voice memo dude is like, everyone was saying he was being straight forward about what he wanted. No he wasn't. Like you said, if you just want physical you can have that by being straight forward and honest about it. He was being cagey. He was trying to frame it in a way that made it sound like a way to get to know their compatibility and potential for a strong relationship, rather than just being upfront about what he wanted

ugh, the voice memo... aside from the fact that it was just gross, it was the definition of coercive. she had already expressed to him that she was not interested in immediately going to bed. that meant he already had his answer. The thing is, he just thought he was such a prize that he could say to her that if they weren't going to have sex on the second date there was no point for him to continue seeing her. The thing is, she had already told him exactly where she stood sexually meaning that he could have inferred that there was no point for them to continue to see each other and simply turned her down for future dates. they were obviously mismatched. but instead of that he decided to put some pressure on her. And why did he do that? because it so often works. for very many women there is a history of acquiescence, or trauma, or capitulation, and these are often learned behaviors from being in situations where we're unsafe or emotionally unsupported, and bad men know that. bad men capitalize on it. And that's exactly what he was doing.
