When I was a kid, an immigrant woman went door to door in our neighborhood, asking for someone to babysit her two young daughters. She spoke poor English, had very little money, but was going to school to be a better provider for her children. I was young, so I don’t remember much of it, but I remember my mom being HORRIFIED that someone might offer to babysit and then harm the little girls, so my mom said she would do it. She took on two little girls who barely spoke English and who didn’t have a clue, because she didn’t want something like this to happen to them. As a kid, I didn’t appreciate the depth of my mom’s gesture. But as a mother now, I realize why she did what she did. And honestly, I’d do the same thing. Poor Sylvia was entrusted to monsters. I hope they all rot in hell.

I was traumatized just by watching the movie. I can’t imagine what that poor girl went through. Well I kind of can as a survivor of trafficking. But they tortured her terribly. So terribly sad. Inhumanity in humans is so disturbing.
