Something that I kept thinking about is it probably never truly clicked for Rose that Pearl IS inlove with her. Where I think Rose just thinks that the way Pearl behaves, the things she says, are just Pearl's ingrained code into her. To adore her diamond, please her diamond, support her diamond, where Rose never truly considered that Pearl's feelings is independent to all those. But despite that, she loves how Pearl makes her feel like remember the part where Pearl was here confessing sorta how she feels for Rose that she's fantasizing about Rose and Pearl is getting flustered saying she should stop and Rose was all please don't ever stop with them star eyes. I think at the time, Rose was so excited with that kind of thought because it's something new to her, something foreign, something truly extraordinary. She's fascinated by those kinds of thoughts and feelings because she's so tired of how, restrained? everything is. Like each gem has a function and must stay in that box. Behave differently and it's taboo or questionable. Am I making sense 🤧 so basically anything out of the box, those constraints, just insanely excites the living shit ouf of her.

I don’t think you realize how devastating and insane this show is from start to finish. The garnet reveal season 1 was enough for me to get hooked, the lore goes soo deep.

Firstly, the gems didn’t keep Greg in the loop and likely never informed him of how often Steven was alone at home. Secondly the housing arrangement is a relatively recent development that based on a few factors seems to have been going on for at most 3 years but based on the gems not knowing about Steven’s birthday rituals could potentially have only been going on for less than a year by the start of the show. Thirdly Greg couldn’t legally take Steven to the doctor or put him in school as due to his mother being a literal alien does not not have a social security number. To summarize Steven stayed living with Greg until he was 10-13 which base on various factors I lean more towards him having actively lived with the gems for at most a year due to him having his original show appearance for age 10-14 and that being the appearance he has when we see him move in during the extended opening. And Steven can’t go to school or the doctor because he doesn’t legally exist due to his mother being an alien. Also he has likely never experienced any injury or illness that required a doctor due to his super healing
