@99cookingclub: Easy Sandwich Bread. This loaf of white bread is cheaper and better than ANYTHING you’ll buy at the store. #bread #Recipe #recipes #cooking #cookwithme
Don’t know where you are or what kind of bread you’re buying but a loaf of store brand white sandwich bread where I live is only $1.39

Skillet bread is faster, less trouble but not so light and airy. I make 50% white 50% brown flour. Yummy

you just brought back core memory-my mom making bread every Sunday-one loaf for the week and one loaf for us kids to eat straight, hot out of the oven.

I make a double batch and freeze them. As a note to people who are used to store bought bread, the homemade stuff has a much shorter shelf life. So once cooled I slice mine and put them in bread bags (you can get a box of 100 on Amazon for a few $), then freeze them. You can pull out what you need every couple of days and it stays fresh that way. Also you dont have to melt the butter for the final brushing after it's baked. The bread's hot enough to just rub a stick of butter on and it melts. This keeps the crust soft and enhances flavor. 🥰😁

One positive about my state, a loaf of sandwich bread is 2.59. And that isn’t the store brand. The store brand is 1.99.

I appreciate that you don’t use a stand mixer. Many people who are feeling the financial pinch don’t own a stand mixer

legitimate question, if salt kills the yeast should you let it activate before adding the salt? my brain thinks mixing the salt in with all the dry ingredients makes the salt and yeast touch so I'm confused.

A bread machine takes alot of the work out of it. I use just the dough cycle then bake in the oven.
