I’m not defending this but it’s happened before. Irène Némirovsky who is Jewish French wrote a novel called Suite Française that involves the same type of romance. My point is that these themes aren’t something that haven’t been explored before and it really depends on how the author approaches it and their background

I feel like if it’s done perfectly right it COULD maybe work like jojo rabbit (which is about a young German boy in the camps to become a Nazi soldier who finds out a Jewish girl is hiding in his house and he slowly starts having a crush on her which it doesn’t go anywhere and there’s also realization of propaganda and hatred formed from the Nazi regime that he starts recognizing) but the settings would be completely different and you can’t post a pic about a Nazi and Jewish person with those images and expect people to not freak out and find it disgusting because it is 😬
