@luckylisel: For the longest time, I genuinely thought everyone had to negotiate with their brain like this as I wasn’t diagnosed with combined ADHD until I was 26, after finishing my psychology degree. So looking back I now realise these weren’t just random little quirks but they imaginary systems I’d unknowingly built through years of trial and error just to help my brain get things done. As silly as some of them sound 😭, they quietly became the foundation of everything I’ve built. If any of these felt familiar, I hope this reminds u that ur not lazy, broken or the only one doing weird little mind games to get through the day. 🤍 I’d love for this to become a place where we can share the systems that actually help us, because I have a feeling we can all learn a lot from each other #ADHD #ADHDAwareness #ExecutiveFunction #ProductivityTips Psychology
Yeah I know work is gonna be absolutely shit so I am taking myself to eat something nice for lunch and treat myself a little so it forces me to get out of bed and go to work 😭

Hi, I’m 18 and I really need advice. I’ve been heavily suspecting that I have ADHD for a while now however I haven’t had the opportunity to get assessed. Recently there’s been some hurdles: I didnt pass my math class and I wasn’t able to get in to my program (comp sci) immediately. They suggested I do an alternate entrance program to get my grades up but my parents don’t really see the point in that cause of the cost and how I’d be delayed a year, my mom suggested I switch my major but the problem is I basically have no passion or interest in any career. Im barely able to have long term interests so it’s even worse with the thought of a job. I bounced around a couple of them for a while before finally settling on computer science and it looks like I’ll have to come up with something again and the thought of that is equal parts aggravating and debilitating. My mentality has always been that I don’t need to necessarily love my job, but instead what if can do for me. If I end up liking it that’s great but it’s not my main goal. and even if I do find something I like theres no guarantee it will be permanent. I really want to get tested and talk to someone about this bc I can’t handle it anymore.

Wow this is so me. I really struggle with my ADHD. There have been many times where I’ve been angry and frustrated with myself to the point of shutting down and not getting anything done.

NO BUT I DO THE SAME ❤️I always think of myself as doing stuff for future me and whenever I do it I'm like "ur welcome future me!" and then with the videogames i always see the branching paths before me and pick the correct one (or the one that seems to give me max happiness) (especially helpful for dialogue) 💕

omg the DIML is so real, but instead of filming i just write it in my notes. just every thought, doesn't even have to be a full sentence. unfortunately this does mean there's lots of nonsense and lots of song lyrics.. BUT it's fun 🥹

I’ve been using Habitica which is a habit app that gamifies your life. They have seasonal gear and it motivates me so much to do my chores so that I can get the points to buy the rare items
