He walked in around midnight, completely silent, and just sat down on the kitchen floor with his head in his hands. I asked what was wrong and he couldn't even look at me. He just kept saying "I'm so sorry" over and over.
Turns out the "boys trip" wasn't just the guys I knew. There was someone else there too — someone he used to be involved with before we got together. Nothing physical happened, he swears, but he admitted things got emotional, and he said things he never should have said as someone in a relationship.
Five years, and I never thought I'd be sitting across from him at 1am trying to figure out if this was a mistake or the beginning of the end.
We're still talking. I don't have answers yet. But I needed to write this out somewhere.
