@emergingmotherhood: When I say viscerally embarrassing I don’t know any other way to describe it. It’s not cute to stay young and dumb #tradwife #singlemom #momof4
People aren't hearing you! In college, the degree is the least important part. You can get a degree at home. College, the institution, is about getting a broader perspective in life.

It’s never too late! My mom didn’t start college until she was 40 and now she has a PhD in biology!

All the people in the comments who are like, "You can go back to school whenever..." that's great, but there's a LIVED experience that she's also talking about. Yes - there are (non-school) educational/developmental/social experiences in your 20s/30s that are formative. When you miss out on that, it leaves you at the kids table during adult interactions. She's telling y'all not to underestimate the grief of that... because it's real-er than you can imagine.

Yall are dismissing her. yes, dont compare yourself. At the same time, it doesnt excuse the reality that she feels the weight of her sacrifices she made to devote her life to a family. Thats a life she could have had because they have families and education.

My kids missed out on so many opportunities because I didn't have the money or connections that college would have given me.

College isnt about the classroom and “indoctrination.” It is about meeting a wider variety of people and learning that way. Your points are so valid!

I used to feel this way. Like I had nothing to offer in the conversation while everyone else was talking business. I don't worry about it anymore. I usually talk about my hobby of showing horses or other things I enjoy.

Educate yourself regardless. College or not, sahm or not. You need to always be learning something, or more of what you think you know

It’s not too late to keep learning. Lots of college professors upload their course lectures to YouTube so you could listen to those!
