I was crushed, but I knew this experience was going to change my life forever. I got out a journal and I wrote down exactly what I wanted this next chapter of my life to look like and who I was going to become. I challenged myself to imagine a life beyond my circumstances, and it started to excite me. I asked myself, I wonder what would happen if for one year I gave it my absolute all? I made it a challenge. I had nothing to lose, and the vision made me excited. The apartment in Mosman. The slow mornings. The marathons. Building a life that was mine. Helping women become the best version of themselves. Then I spent every single day becoming her. I broke it down into small goals. I read every book I could on attachment theory, emotional regulation and behavioral psychology, and then I started talking about it. I saw the momentum build, and I saw it as the universe rewarding me for choosing myself. Slowly but surely, I became everything I said I would be. This transformation took years, not 60 seconds. Keep that in mind. If you are in the part of the story that feels like the ending, know that you can decide at any moment that this is not how your story is going to end.
