I actually did a breakdown video on this! Most of the fashion and specifically their police uniforms allude to 1960-70. All of the other clues are non canon fanarts !

I think late 1940s to possibly the 1960s, I don't think fashion in the 1970s and later really aligns with the manga. My counterargument against it taking place in the late 1930s to mid 1940s is because of WW2, since we've seen in many pages that many people had cars, which would be considered a luxury during that time. Mass production of cars as I've searched started some time in the 1960s, but its possible that a lot of cars were already on the roads back then. And I think it would make sense with a European police officer's salary to be able to afford a car and designer clothing items. We've yet to see a TV in the manga so we can't make any accurate guesses until we see that

I really hope like 1930s-1950s because I just love that time so much and all its fashion. then again something modern can be just as beautiful too, seeing how they'd most likely stand out from crowds to keep something more authentic in a way then really modern.
