One thing I absolutely love about House of the Dragon is how much attention they pay to subtle visual details.
A lot of viewers who haven't read Fire & Blood are convinced that Sunfyre is dead. But if you actually look closely at the scene, his body is almost completely intact. He isn't moving, but there's no visible decomposition. Compare that to Meleys, whose body is already clearly decomposing. That visual contrast feels very intentional.
I also don't think Baela was "wrong" when she said Sunfyre was dead and lying on the ground. From her perspective, she saw a dragon lying motionless after a devastating battle, so that's the conclusion she naturally reached. But interestingly, the show itself never explicitly confirms his death.
Whether you've read Fire & Blood or not, it feels like the writers deliberately left subtle clues for attentive viewers instead of spelling everything out. It's one of those small details that makes rewatching the series even more rewarding.
