@letstalkit2: ATTACK REPORT FROM KUM COMMUNITY, IN RIYOM LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, PLATEAU STATE. 12th July, 2026 It is with deep grief and pain that we report another deadly terrorist attack on our communities in Riyom LGA. In the early hours of Saturday, 11th July 2026, armed bandits and terrorist gangs suspected to have come from the Fass axis launched a coordinated attack on Wereng-Camp and Kum villages of Riyom LGA. The attack lasted for over an hour, from 11:00pm on 11th July to 1:00am on 12th July 2026. During the invasion of Kum Community, 9 members of one family were gruesomely murdered. In addition, the Village Head of the community sustained life-threatening injuries and is currently battling for his life in the hospital. This senseless bloodshed is one of the deadliest attacks our people have witnessed in recent times. I strongly condemn this barbaric act and call on the relevant security agencies and government to immediately deploy more personnel to protect lives and property in Riyom LGA. I urge our people to remain calm, vigilant, and to provide useful information to security operatives. I also call on government and good-spirited individuals to support the victims and the bereaved families. #JOS
