Im quite happy when drs are running late, in my mind its because they are giving patients the time, care and treatment that they need rather than pushing them out the door after a few minutes, I am sadly one of those patients that tend to over run during my appointments

If you were late for a bus/train chances are it would have left. We have a 10 minute late policy unless vulnerable/child then will consider. Late patients mean others arrived on time seen late.

I once turned up 15 minutes early for an appointment and just sat waiting in the waiting room for nearly 30 minutes as they were running behind. The lady that was meant to be before me turned up late by like 10-15 minutes and they said she’d have to rearrange her appointment because she wasn’t there on time. The nurse called me in and the lady literally screamed at me that I was “stealing her appointment”. I felt terrible 😂

I was late today my doctors appointment and I apologised and as I work in healthcare myself I said would you be able to rebook me or the doctor give me a phone call when she’s available. She did manage to fit me in and I thanked her for that as I know how busy it gets.

Ohhh my goddddd😠😠 this drives me mad. A few scenarios 1) calls 3pm (appt is at 3pm) I’m gonna be about 30 mins late okay?😂😂😂 ‘No not okay you’ll need to rebook’ wtf! 2) comes in 20 mins late wonders why self check in won’t work. Advised of appt time is now missed ‘the girl told me 2:20 (let’s say)’ sorry it was at 2, continues to argue ‘do you have proof of your appointment, where’s the ticket she gave you?’ ‘No but I wrote it down look’ I did actually say to her ‘aww you wrote it down so that must make you right then!’ Told me the nurse wanted to see her so she wouldn’t bother, was very snippy and rude I told her I wouldn’t continue serving her if she was gonna keep it up. She went into see another worker at my practice who told her to apologise and that she was out of order😂 or the ones that rock up ‘appt at 2’ no probs take a seat, ehh hold on it’s 2:15 you realise you’re 15 mins late? ‘Yeah’ right so dr might not be able to see you! No sorry no acknowledgement of the lateness just think we won’t notice😂🙈
