I did a version of the piano method in high school, but not nearly as complex. Knocks and taps. First number was a knock, second number was a tap. So question 24? Two knocks, four taps. Then taps to coordinate for answer. A was one tap. B was two, etc. you paused between. Usually it was someone asked the number and someone else answered.
