Kitchen Aid is a bit of a fresh name in the Espresso world, but not the kitchen. With the pinnacle of any home chefs appliances being a Kitchen Aid Mixer. I genuinely remember how excited my mum was to get hers and to have it as a center piece in the kitchen. Well, now they are also taking steps into the world of little beans. This is the Semi-Auto offering with built in grinder. Let me give you initial thoughts! Grinder adjustment is simple, with more capability than I thought. I choked a few shots, I guess underestimating its ability. It heats up quick, which is good but there is like any thermoblock machines a bit of lag between brewing and steaming. But, to make up for that the steam wand is the most powerful I have used at this price point. Although, it’s a tad short. But it’s very usable. Interestingly it’s got a 58mm portafilter. Which usually you won’t find until you’re stepping up in terms of machine price. So it makes it feel quite pro. I guess a standout point is the quiet mark. The grinder is way quieter than most which can be an issue for those early birds. Anyway, I’ll do a workflow video showing how I use the machine but so far it’s good! I could see this very easily competing with the other machines at this price point.
