@baba_talisha: Today, I took Talisha to visit her mom, Milka’s, resting place. It’s been almost six years since the accident that changed our lives forever. Talisha was only two years old. She remembered her mom, but she never fully understood why she wasn’t here anymore. Today, we had that conversation. Standing at her mother’s grave, I gently told her the truth—that we were involved in a road accident, that her mom didn’t survive, and that she was left fighting for her own life. It wasn’t an easy conversation, but it was one she deserved to hear with love, honesty, and compassion. We shared a quiet moment together. There were tears, questions, and hugs. For the first time, she truly understood what death means. As a father, that moment touched me deeply. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting. I’ve made peace with what happened, but no amount of healing can erase the memories or change the fact that my little girl lost her mother far too soon. Milka will always be part of our story, and she will always be part of Talisha. Today, though, my heart is full of gratitude. Grateful to God for the gift of watching my daughter grow into a beautiful, strong young girl. Every milestone she reaches is a reminder of God’s faithfulness. I’m also deeply thankful for the woman who stepped into our lives and chose to love Talisha as her own. Her care, patience, and love mean more than words can ever express. Knowing my daughter is loved, protected, and well taken care of is one of my greatest blessings. To anyone carrying the weight of loss, I want to encourage you: healing doesn’t erase the pain, but it teaches you how to carry it with grace. Keep choosing love. Keep choosing hope.
