I loved this movie because it represented how disturbing and disgusting humbert's mind was but at the same time, it also showed glimpses of what Dolores was like and what girlhood at that age is like (like when she eats the ice cream in the middle of the night, when she does silly stuff or just her attitude in the beginning of the movie in general) but more importantly, I feel like it holds a special place in my heart because it helped me when I was around Dolores' age to move on from something slightly similar that I was going thru and I felt like this movie captured a really tragic feeling while still showing how HH saw Dolores, which is why this movie is disturbing but also, it shows us how Dolores saw herself and her life which is what makes it tragic, and all this combined with the look and feel of the movie just made me love it in a really special way. I know this was long but I really wanted to say this while still acknowledging the disturbing nature of the movie!
