So I have a bizarre story. I’m 58 years old, but when I got pregnant for the first time they had to give me an MMR after my baby was born. They said that my blood showed that I did not have immunity. Every time I would have a baby which I have three, I would have to have the MMR again. Recently, my doctor asked me when the last time was I had one and I told him 24 years ago and he said that I needed to get another one because my blood shows yet again that I do not have the immunity. It’s so weird to me.

She needs the vaccine as well as the immunoglobulin. She’ll still need to get it at 12 months.

my child got hers at 6 months because we were traveling somewhere that there was an active outbreak, but arranging that early vaccination was a headache.

I spent the whole first year of my child's life worried about measles and I'm already worried about my next baby. People are selfish and it's not fair.

When the last outbreak happened we had a lot of older people getting (especially Baby boomer generation) the mmr for the first time. I wish more people would take it seriously

not that I'm trying to scare anyone with MMR vaccines. but can we talk about what happens when you aren't compatible and if there is testing that can be done to know if you'll have adverse reactions? I'm not anti Vax by any means but I wish we had more testing to know before hand to prepare better. even though it's a small percent..we exist and are people to. I had my first ITP flare up after my MMR measles vaccine. my illness seems to be more vaccine induced when I have flare ups. so I'm a person that's not compatible with them. but it took me to get it and almost die for them to find out. I hemorrhaged in my brain. I don't wish that on anyone. so I guess what I'm getting at is there more testing now where people can request to see if they are more likely to have adverse reactions? maybe there's a treatment before hand they can get so they can take a vaccine or something.

In all fairness she said this happened because a parent had it. Many people don't realize your titres can drop and you may not be covered and need a booster later in life. So not necessarily a neglectful person
