as someone who has been through it...those metal brackets that hold the head and foot boards to the side rails are great. However, if you have a bed jumper those metal brackets will split the wood fairly quickly.

I have two of these beds in my house! I pray your versions of the bed are stronger than the handmade ones I have as the mattresses & bases needed to be custom made & the standard sheets never fit either! The slats constantly fall through & the sides pop out..
