Gallop is faster, only if you can hold your kick and get a strong core on pull. If you can’t kick, gallop is done in 100yds.

i haven’t been a competitive swimmer in years but imo smooth, especially since i was a distance swimmer. less resistance = less strength needed, especially when kicking.
