I think people assume you can “reverse” it if your A1C is no longer in diabetic range. But have a family history so I think even if my A1C is managed (which doesn’t mean my diabetes has been “reversed”) it just means it’s being managed. At least that’s just what I’m assuming!

thats true every diabetic is different! I go by what my endocrinologist tells me to do instead of getting info on here.

You do not get cured from diabetes you can put it in remission, but it is never cured some that are type two diabetics can watch what they eat and exercise and not have to take medication and it’s in remission as they call it but if they start eating like they used to and they don’t exercise. It comes right back to where they have high blood sugar.

type 2 diabetics are in DKA usually for 2 reasons. Before they are diagnosed and that's how they find out or when they've been told they no longer are diabetics and stop checking their numbers. it's kind of like an alcoholic is always an alcoholic even if they haven't had a drink in 30 years. I'm saying this not to fight with anyone but to encourage those who are diabetic controlled to keep checking your numbers periodically to make sure your pancreatic function hasn't changed for the worse.

Because I actually do work in the medical profession.I have multiple sclerosis, and I am type two diabetic after losing 61lbs and addressing my diet habits, my a one c now sits at 4.6 changing my diagnosis of type 2 diabetes to not diabetic. So I in fact, tap rid of my diabetes

I’m happy to say my A1C went down from 8.5 to 7. I’m so happy I change my diet and walks 10,000. I’m reversing my diabetes type 2. Every body is different but any disease if you take care of your body can be reversed is all up to you. 🙏🙏

remission, yes reversal, no.....remission is managed by food, meds and excerise or a mix of the 3 , if in wrong, please let me know, I'm a type 2 myself......

Yes diabetes can be reversed in some cases but not all. Everyone’s physiology is different. Type 2 is insulin resistance and Type 1 means your body does not produce insulin. Yes, type 2 can be reversed. just because it doesn’t work for you doesn’t mean it can’t be reversed in someone else. That’s why your personal experience of being diabetic for 12 years does not make you an expert sweetie.
