I have a bunch of cucumbers, radishes, and carrots in my fridge. If I do a simple pickling of them in a jar with brine for the fridge, does that help lower the chances of cyclospora ? Thank you!

Most food manufacturers do their own QC to avoid recalls. It’s important financially not necessarily to protect people

Seems a little too passive if ya ask me… I think most of us are just a little surprised by how many situations like this keep happening and just how massive all them have been since these cuts got made. Maybe there’s not a correlation, but it sure seems like there is.

Food and water are the most important things to us, it should be overly funded and staffed

It does seem like in the past the public would be notified of a source sooner. Am I wrong?

Thanks for talking about this, I’ve seen lots of people confusing the kinds of surveillance.

I’m curious as to how there are still no current cases in Canada? Michigan has the most cases and shares a border very close to me in Ontario. Does it have something to do with our surveillance? We do receive a lot of produce from the U.S.

Living on the edge this week, eating blackberries imported from Mexico, in Canada 💃🏻 advisory wasn’t to stop eating produce from Mexico, the outbreak isn’t happening in Canada, Mexico’s last outbreak was cilantro not berries 🕺🏻

This is prob a dumb question but does freezing produce also kill the cyclospora or only cooking it

The states are doing the work. They may be sending the info to the CDC but I don't see the CDC doing anything with that info. The funding was removed.

I wonder how much is happening from public pools and water parks since chlorine doesn’t kill it

Can’t believe I got a whole video! This was a joke of course and I would never intend to be a fear-monger, but I can only guess that the current administrations actions certainly don’t help any effort to curtail the spread of cyclospora/any foodborne illness. It isn’t a binary situation, but we could certainly be better about it

If Trump wanted to stop tracking Covid so deaths didn’t look bad, they may stop tracking this
