I live in the community that the woman was murdered in, in Arnhem Land and it has been CRICKETS. Not even the school is referring to it as murder. I think everyone is afraid to offend the family of the perpetrator. It’s insane.

Also a reminder that violence isn’t just physical is can be in the form of psychological violence, financial control, not letting you hang out with friends or dictating what you wear, what you eat and don’t eat, not letting you be in control of your own body whether it be going to the gym or having s3x.

I lost my sister to DV but I can hand on heart tell you I have a great man. He would never lay a hand on me, he is my biggest supporter puts me and our son first and he was a bought up in a home with dv and i belive he seen how his dad and step dad treated his mum and knew it was not right and broke the chain in his family. Maybe I have a one in a million man but its not all men. My man dosnt support the violence against woman especially after loosing his sister in law to a Man. We are raising my sisters 4 boys who where left behind who all had dads who had dv against my sister, we are raising them on how to treat a women, I hope with a great roll model they can also break the chain.
