New houses are already so cheaply built. I worry about deregulation.

Lower regulations, Lower environmental impacts, Lower bank & mortgage regulations. The only good thing it does is stop companies from buying up residential homes.

There are so many new construction homes sitting in the state of Utah that I don’t really believe that adding more is going to drop the price

They built a system where people need housing to live, people need housing to build wealth, the system only works if housing gets more expensive. Housing getting more expensive making living harder and that’s not an accident it’s a design flaw. At some point, societies have to choose Is housing primarily shelter, or primarily an asset class? You can’t optimize for both forever.

Limits Corp to 350 homes. They can create multiple Corp to get around the limit. This bill does ZERO to make homes affordable

This build has nothing to lower the prices of houses. This bill does not make it easier for first time homebuyers or any type of homebuyer to purchase a home.

All they need to do is ban owning more than two homes and no corporate ownership and no foreign ownership. Problem solved. 👍

I fail to see how preventing large investors from buying houses will increase the number of houses available. MUCH likelier to do the opposite.

Practical Magic :
The housing is inflated . They are too expensive plus interest rates . That’s main issue . I rent and I could buy but there’s no way to save enough for a down payment with the prices of rent . Lower RENT TOO
