I feel bad for the younger generation, tech not a good field anymore, it’s a constant battle of new technology, I think I would go into a trade, you can master a trade and perfect it, my knowledge in tech loses value

having the big names don't mean nearly as much anymore. in fact in some cases it's to your detriment because some recruiters assume you come with a big price tag. the industry is a shell of what it was and isn't going to change for the better until it starts to impact the pockets of the people at the top

Damn. I am an internal recruiter for tech. Lots of changes last 10 years. All supply and demand. I remember during COVID it was so hard to get programmers. They demanded super high salaries for roles that didn't need it. But because they were so limited. We had to give it to them. To be blunt. Now we could offer the same position for significant less. And if the applicant doesn't take it after a few emails back and forth we just move on to the next candidate. But these are just for senior programming and less. AI really changed the game in how many programmers you really need. Machine learning engineers are in super demands though.

“Give the big corporations and billionaires tax cuts and the jobs will trickle down” 🙄. People believe this even though the data shows otherwise.

they still have larger headcount then they did in 2019. I think they just over hired the past 5 years but they still are bigger then they were before covid
