@scotlandbyprestige: We were travelling to Shotts today and came across this wee spot called Bonkle Bakes . Its an honest box in Northlanarkshire and it was filled with goodies. We grabbed a few bits and bobs but there was so much to choose from, so I can see me going back in the next few days. If youre not familar with honesty boxes theyve been in the country for quite a few years now, and are slowly seeping into our suburban areas. Its a shop system ran on a very small scale and based on trust. You take what you want, count it up yourself, and charge yourself. There are cameras in most boxes, and theyre usually righy outside the owners house. But a certain level of trust still has to exist. The fact these things work up and down the country show how good people always outweigh the bad, and the large majority will pay what theyre due, or sometimes even more. Very few people want to feel like theyre not paying their way, so the boxes are respected almost all the time.
