i miss when pluribus was popping off but man the discourse was insufferable im getting war flashbacks 😭 i can get over vince saying shes your reluctant hero but then everyone saying she was meant to be a walter white villain.. like thats and entirely different type of character and arc!! but yeah i think people got so stuck on carol = american individualism, everyone else = collectivism they couldn’t see anything else and then couldn’t empathize w carol bc she represented the “bad” thing

I felt like most, if not all, of Carols actions a feelings were reasonable. She just lost her wife and the planet is in a new hivemind. How is that not alarming.

It was refreshing seeing her anger play out and it not being resolved in an episode. Also most of the episodes took place over the course of two weeks. She barely had time to grieve her wife and the world changing around her.

i'm so glad you brought this up, it's genuinely so frustrating because I've seen the most inane mind bogglingly bad takes about pluribus, and it's the fact that it's so common for people to cherry pick their least fav/most incedeniary parts of the plot, or Carol's personality or character development to make engagement bait content. People who've watched the first 3-4 episodes, now making sweeping generalizations and statements about the so and so theme or something Carol did so widely removed from its overall season long narrative arc
