For the record I was a cook and I switched to HR while I was active duty and I was just awarded 100% bc of what happened to me while I was in. This is not BS, any woman that served deserves disability bc of what happens to them while they are serving. Damn right she deserves it!

my husband has served 22+ years, still active, only getting 20% disability after nearly being blown up in Afghanistan and Iraq, 2 foot surgeries from bad airborne landings & PTSD and is only expected to make about $4000 in retirement/disability when he gets out...how the fuck does a cook get $8000?

My dad has been in the marines for 44 years; has an injured back where they want to do surgery and he’s still denied disability! But yet a COOK gets 100%. Yeah the system is wrong.

Crazy how we are giving 100% to people that never saw any combat. This is coming from a combat veteran with a much lower rating. These people are going to eventually get it taken away for the people who actually need it.

The people in these comments along with Caleb drive me insane. He has never served. Just because she was a cook, doesn’t mean she didn’t incur some disability/injuries in service. Maybe the chow hall she cooked in was blown up and she incurred injuries (it happened in Fallujah), just because she was a cook doesn’t make her less entitled to benefits. Obviously the VA and doctors agreed she is disabled. -sincerely, a person who works for VA in claims
