Yeah we just drop it where we think after about 1 min of looking and call it one stroke. Unless your playing for money it dont matter.

gotta just do a Gallery drop if everyone agrees that your ball definitely was in the area you hit, and cant find it just take a drop a slight bit further from the hole. No strokes lost we all knew it was there somewhere!!

Stroke and distance is the worst rule in golf and shouldn't be a thing except for high level competitive golf. High school golf and your local course should have lateral drops as the standard

its not fair. if you already hit a ball OB, why am I assuming the re-tee would be in the fairway? the re-tee could easily go OB as well

If you are in a spot where you have to re tee you are already hitting 3 off the tee and 4 out of the fairway. It’s no different.
