You know, ever since I watched The Hunger Games, which was recent, I can't help but see it everywhere. Let's take The World Cup for instance, different teams to represent different nations, sound familiar, fighters to represent districts, and those people who groom the champions (guy who plays carnage) in the modern sport can be seen as agents, those sponsors who provide provisions, the clubs that buy them.
