@felidaecentre: A full carcass is so much more than just a meal… it’s nature’s perfect diet. 🦁❤️ Today, our rescued lions were able to enjoy a full carcass generously donated by a local farmer. Moments like these are incredibly special, not only because it fills hungry stomachs, but because it provides the most natural and nutritious way for our lions to eat. In the wild, lions consume far more than just meat. They eat skin, connective tissue, cartilage, organs and bones, all of which provide essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients that support healthy teeth, strong bones, digestion and overall wellbeing. Feeding whole carcasses also encourages natural feeding behaviours, giving our lions valuable mental stimulation and enrichment while they work together as a pride. Although these generous donations help us tremendously, they are rarely close by. We often travel many kilometres to collect carcasses, and with the rising cost of fuel, every collection places additional strain on our already limited budget.
