Sounds a lot like a narcissist controlling their victim - for those unaware narcissists will cause a person’s personality to split and then they are able to control them however they deem fit - this is usually done through a combination of fear, intimidation and electroshock therapy. Now you know why some head case listens to whatever someone tells them to do, even if to their own demise.. for example the narcissist for the idealise and devalue causing trauma bonds - this is all it is.
