@erinrackham: Best & worst Long COVID meds I’ve tried since 2022! 💊 Everyone is different, of course, and none of this is medical advice, but ppl always ask me to list everything in one video, so this is my attempt! At my worst, I was mostly bedbound in a dark room—unable to tolerate light or sound without vomiting, I couldn’t eat more than a few bites of food a day, and my pain was about a level 8/9 most days (truly—I gave birth unmedicated twice, once with pitocin, and can tolerate pain. Long COVID was excruciating). Now I can leave my house 2-3x/week, I can eat normally, lights and sounds rarely bother me, my pain is usually a 2 or less, and my main limiting factor is fatigue. #longCOVID #longCOVIDrecovery #lowdosenaltrexone #lowdoseabilify #cromolynSodium

This is awesome, thank you for sharing! I’m so curious about what you said re: taking LDN twice a day?! Can you explain. I take it in AM 5mg (tried it in PM for 6 months didn’t work until I switched to AM) but I’m fascinated that you take it twice a day. I’ve never heard of someone doing that. Did you initially try once a day and move to twice? I would love to know more. Thanks!

I wonder if I should increase my LDN cus I’m only on 4mg at night and still have daily pain. Didn’t know you could take it 2X a day! Does it cause drowsiness?

Which kind of doctor did you go to about LDA and other medications to address your MECFS symptoms? I'm on a lot of the same medications as you (LDN, proponolol, etc) and have been looking into LDA for my PEM and sensory issues but don't know which kind of doctor to seek out

Did you build up to LDN twice a day? I’m taking it once and I like the idea of titrating up more with this than yet another med

I could not take metoprolol. It made me feel worse. I ended up getting more reactive to foods when I was on it and I even cut the lowest dose in half. I’m being evaluated for MCAS now. Apparently, you use beta receptors to help fight mast-cell reactions, so beta blockers can reduce your body’s ability to fight back making reactions more noticeable (according to AI). Still need to wait to talk to my doctor to confirm that.

Ldn worked great for about two years and then just stopped working for me. I tried taking a day off a week. Helped once or twice and then made me feel worse. Sigh!
