That's a manual setting or light alignment problem. Newer Teslas are equipped with an optional setting that automatically dims headlights when it sees oncoming cars or is behind a vehicle.

i turned my highbeams on one night cause i thought someones were also on. they werent and when they flashed them there was no difference between the two.

You know what’s worse?! A fking Hyundai Elantra we had one and everyone flashed their high beams at me thinking they were on..haven’t had that problem in my Tesla but I also don’t use my high beams

Oh buddy. Do reasearch. Actually Tesla is aware of modern car light and had modified their cars to be better than other. You probably experienced a bad driver you forgot some settings

Unfortunately manufacturers nowadays just make sure the headlights turn on. Aiming them isn’t a priority for them. I recall a GM product being recalled 20 years ago. I can’t remember if it was my Grand Am or my Cadillac. But I remember the reason, driver side headlight aimed too high and blinding oncoming drivers.
