The comments are full of entitled people who are lazy friends, they have friends they reach out to just not you. A year is crazy, I’m glad you set your boundary. I think he just wanted a reason to talk to you by giving you a detailed excuse as an explanation while simultaneously sending multiple texts that you would perceive as “effort” while also making you feel “special” and “seen” by remembering a smaller detail that only you could apparently explain. His goal was to see if breadcrumbing you would work.
