I speak fluent Dagbani but have never been to tamale before,my mum and dad were both from a village in tamale…and they migrated to Kumasi….and later moved to western north region.

My siblings and I was born and raised in Accra and we all speak dagbani well. Infact that was the only language they communicated with us , any other languages we speak we learnt it ourselves
