we ran a "what came first, the chicken or the egg?" stall at a science fair and had kids doing fake archaeology to find the first examples of eggs Vs birds, even the younger kids got the ideas pretty well. took us ages to design and set the difficulty level right but I'm glad we didn't make any claims about t rex evolving into birds!

I saw a video of a dude that said, the modern birds we have today are the weird ones that survived, like how bats are weird mammals that evolved wings to fly, birds were dinosaurs that evolved wings to fly

Tyrannosaurus isn't even the closest related dinosaur to birds that's 'Jurassic Park'-level famous. And this "fact" obscures the truth that the earliest birds evolved in the middle Jurassic and fully modern birds lived alongside T Rex.

Birds are dinosaurs is like humans are single cell organisms. We did afterall evolve from single cell organisms, so we are in the family. Or humans are fish, because the ealiest land dwellers evolved from fish that devoloped lungs.
