I agree. What works for me (and this is literally just me) I’m far too self centered. It’s not “oh well it’s their loss” it’s genuinely “wow I feel bad for them, they don’t get to experience me anymore” which allows me to empathize with, and let go of, people who preferred the pie over my cake 🎂 (I’ve been told I got cakes so I’m embracing it)

Yes this is the only way to maintain a healthy self esteem. If rejection from others make you reject yourself then you shouldn't date because it becomes very toxic and you might end up people pleasing or overdoing to prove your worth, when the right person will see it. You don't have to do that much.
