Hey im a podiatrist Student, that’s not true. Your ingrown nail wasn’t the issue it was the tissue growing under it, the oil makes it softer so it doesn’t poke you. The skin is so hard and sharp that it’s often mistaken for a nail but it’s not. You can get a braces on your nail. Make sure to always cut the nails straight, if you cut the edges the nail will grow more into your skin ☺️

just use a small cotton piece soak in acetone and stick it under the nail the nail will lift slightly and grow out normal with the cotton piece wil fall out when the nail grows out normal.

Stop cutting your toenails down to the skin and cut and file straight across and don’t round off the edges and you’ll avoid ingrowns

I bought special nail clippers that get in there and fixed it myself. Softening the skin wo t fix it.

so I looked this up on Google Gemini and it actually does work to soften the skin but has less of an effect on the nails but the nails isn't the point it's softening the skin so the nails can grow straight.
