After major bipartisan blowback, the $10 billion for Trump became $1.776 billion for Trumps yet-to-be-determined beneficiaries, tho people prosecuted for attacking the Capitol appeared to be at the front of the line. The deal also included a ban on ever auditing Trump, his companies, or his family. Not the kind of thing that screams “good faith settlement between adverse parties.” Which is why it got flagged. According to judge Williams, Trump basically sued himself and used his office to dictate the terms of the settlement with no opposition. Thats not how the DOJ is supposed to function. The federal judge overseeing the case stopped short of calling this a fraud on the court, but referred Todd Blanche and other attorneys involved for disciplinary proceedings. For now, the cringeworthy figure of $1.776 billion for trumps pals is not going forward. But the ban on auditing him remains in place (for now). What do you think will happen next?
