@atouchofgrace.diy: How to Update Vintage Furniture Without Chemical Stripper & Hours of Sanding I actually tried to barter for this vintage Drexel dresser first, but they turned me down. A little while later, the exact same piece from the exact same person popped up on Facebook Marketplace for *free*… so of course I had to go get it. 😂 This dresser had incredible bones, but it definitely wasn’t an easy save. Years in a humid room had swollen the wood and caused the drawers to shift, so getting everything working again took a little bit of time. The part I hope encourages you is this: you don’t always need a full refinish, a ton of supplies, or years of experience to save a piece of furniture. Sometimes the best thing you can do is work with what’s already there and bring the original beauty back. I know this deep red wood is gorgeous, but it’s not usually my style. Do you see it as timeless and beautiful, or does it feel dated? I’d love to hear your thoughts because it really helps me decide where to take future makeovers. . . . #FurnitureFlip #FurnitureMakeover #FurnitureRestoration #VintageFurniture #DIYfurniture Drexel dresser, Drexel furniture, vintage furniture, vintage dresser, furniture makeover, furniture flip, furniture restoration, wood restoration, furniture refinishing, antique furniture

Best to restore, like you did. Painting a piece that can be restored to it's original beauty is a major NO-NO.🥰

I also am not really a mahogany fan, but there was no other option. the restoration looks incredible and it would have been a crime to cover the beautiful tone
