I’m glad you told the truth about how long the train takes. I want more trains, more buses, running on time, but there are tons of anti-car ppl on social media pretending like Metro is already a good alternative to cars and it’s just not true. It takes 2x as long.

The main thing that slowed down the D line construction was NIMBYs who were worried about tunnels underneath their homes (unscientific concern) and had years of lawsuits with rich people from Beverly Hills and the high school

thank god LA left the age of the car! as an angeleno that uses metro, new york felt familiar in the sense that i could just take a bus or train and walk where i needed to go. ik im in the minority with that experience and lifestyle, but it contributed to why i feel the two cities are a lot more alike than people try to tell me they are
