They make hyper realistic silicone masks that people can wear these days. Maybe have one made of your face and then one of the staff members at the vet could put it on occasionally to boost his spirits.

We left our shelter dog with our friends for a week vacation and she had the hardest time. When we came back for her she was so excited!!! It also was a learning moment that we will always come back for her. Broke my heart

Awe poor guy! My pittie went thru that the first time I took her for a car ride- she sat at the back of the car shaking and looking so sad. I think she thought I was taking her back! She is still my Velcro baby!

If it helps, he will be less scared next time and every time after. The more good experiences you can keep giving them (returning) the more they learn to trust that your home is permanent. It won’t go away 100% but he will feel better over time as he can watch your love every time you keep the promise of coming back :)

My bf and I’s beautiful, sweet pit/staffy mix is still scared of car rides. She’s veryyyyy slowly but surely getting used to the car, and gets very excited when she sees grandma’s neighborhood now. Sometimes, she doesn’t want to leave grandma’s😂

The first time we had to board our pup after adoption, I was so nervous that he thought we left him. He almost jumped the door when a saw we were back to get him🥰

i just adopted a dog from the pound and this was mt exact thought when i left after our first meeting... but rihht after that first meeting i told the pound shes my dog.. we had ti wait a few days before she came home BUT i came back for my girl 😭❤️
