@officialweatherbug: This is the first time that some of these areas have ever been put under a 3/5 risk for severe storms. And no that is not an over exaggeration. The SPC updated and changed how they categorized severe weather in 2014. So the system is still relatively new. From 2014 to now, the SPC has never issued this high of a risk for Northern Maine. Storms are expected to bring high winds, hail and even isolated tornadoes to the region tomorrow afternoon. #severeweather #maine #newengland #tornadoes #weatherupdate

So its not the first time ever, just since 2014, wording is key. Maine has had tornado’s, microbursts and massive flooding forever.

Its bc my brother is on vacation up there. When he moved to Florida for college the first month Florida broke their 11 year hurricane drought. Then when he moved upstate NY hurricane Irene had heavy impacts up there followed by Sandy. Hes a severe weather magnet 😅

I just talk to my farther who was born in 1952 born and raised in maine of course and told he remember several tornados when he was a child, I had no idea Maine has ever had a tornado. I looked it up and there was 8 that dropped down from 1954 and 1962. why didnt I know this
